Edge: Full Specifications

Edge is built around a 6.7-inch curved OLED display that stretches dramatically over the sides and runs at 90 Hz, giving the phone a distinctive look as well as smooth motion for everyday navigation. Its Snapdragon 865 platform, 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of UFS 3.0 storage place it firmly in flagship territory, while near-stock Android 10 and Motorola’s My UX additions keep the software relatively clean. The body combines Gorilla Glass 5 with a 6000 series aluminum frame, and despite the premium finish it still keeps practical touches such as a 3.5 mm headphone jack, USB-C with DisplayPort support and an in-display fingerprint reader. Around back, the camera system pairs a 108 MP main sensor with optical image stabilization, a 16 MP ultra-wide camera that also handles macro shots, an 8 MP telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom, and a time-of-flight sensor, with video capture reaching up to 6K. A 25 MP front camera handles selfies. The 5000 mAh battery is one of the phone’s bigger strengths, and it supports 18 W wired charging, 15 W wireless charging and 5 W wireless power sharing, alongside 5G, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.1, NFC and single nano-SIM support.

Pros

  • 5G: The Edge Plus is one of Motorola's only phones that can connect to 5G networks and benefit off its speed
  • Design: The phone's design might be its greatest quality. Its tiny notch and long screen that wraps around the phone's edges highly resembles the phone of the future.

Cons

  • Price: The Edge Plus is a very expensive phone, especially for Canadians, who should expect to spend around $2000 on a brand new one.
  • Charging speed: The Edge Plus contains many features that quickly drain the device's battery. In addition, it takes around 90 minutes to fully charge the device from 0 to 100%.
